Lino list #001: SAM ANDREW
LINO LIST: an ever-evolving directory of items, people or places which we’re in to, and think you should be too.
The inaugural entry into the Lino List is Sam Andrew, a talented ceramicist whose functional pieces are inspired by time spent living in Japan, Hungary and the Netherlands. From his studio in Manchester, each piece is handmade and produced in small batches following experimentation in form and pattern. We’ve picked three items below which we’d recommend for the home:
01: Large Nerikomi Bowl
With beautiful patterns unique to each bowl, these stoneware pieces are perfect for dinner party serving. From one bowl to the next, each item is has its own variation due to the small batch, handmade process in which they are created. The insides of the bowls are sealed with a clear glaze to finish. £85
02: Small Mug in Recycled Stoneware
Dark glazed stoneware mugs created with the off-cuts and waste from other products. Holding between 270-300ml, these characterful mugs are can be used for both shorter and longer hot drinks. See more here.
£22
03: Large Nerikomi Plate
Possibly our favourite piece currently in stock, the perfectly imperfect dinner plate. Ideal for main meals at around 10 inches in diameter, these plates are pressed using contrasting colour clays, which are then finished with a clear glaze to the top surface. See more here.
